At Huntington Creek Recovery Center, we strive to make our patients’ stay as comfortable as possible so that they can focus on healing and recovery during their time with us. We know that the days leading up to admittance can be challenging. This is an important time for incoming patients to reflect on their unique goals for treatment, and mentally and emotionally prepare for the hard work and positive changes ahead.
Having a few key items from home will make our patients’ time here at Huntington Creek Recovery Center a bit easier. With a wide variety of experiential activities to choose from on our campus, we want our patients to feel prepared to participate in the full gamut of therapeutic opportunities available to them. Additionally, by having a few familiar creature comforts of their own, Huntington Creek will feel a bit more like home during a patient’s stay. By gathering some key items to bring along to Huntington Creek, patients will feel more prepared to begin their journey down the path toward recovery.
The following is a list of items we recommend our patients bring with them:
- Be sure to pack enough comfortable clothing for one full week. Depending on the time of year, we recommend bringing seasonal casual clothes such as jeans, t-shirts, sweatshirts, shorts in summer, pajamas, and undergarments. Because you will be spending time in the outdoors during your stay, be sure to pack clothing that is appropriate for exercise and outdoor activities. This includes sneakers, boots, and workout clothes.
- We encourage patients to bring their preferred toiletries, including: shampoo, bath soap, hair products, toothpaste and a toothbrush, and makeup for women. Please note that all toiletries must be alcohol-free.
- Patients should bring any of their prescribed medications, vitamins, and supplements (pending approval by admissions).
- Please be sure to bring photo identification and your insurance card.
If you have any questions about preparing for your stay at Huntington Creek, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to meeting you or your loved one the journey to recovery begins.
We recommend not bringing expensive clothing or jewelry, as Huntington Creek Recovery Center is not responsible for lost or damaged belongings.
