Huntington Creek Recovery Center has been a trusted provider of experiential-based therapies for addiction and co-occurring disorders since 1972. Our detox program allows the men and women who are entrusted into our care the ability to rid their bodies of harmful substances before starting residential treatment.
Chemical Dependency
An unfortunate effect of substance abuse is chemical dependency. When an individual abuses a substance over an extended period of time, he or she will likely develop a tolerance to his or her substance or substances of choice and require increasing amounts in order to achieve the desired effect. Should this be a person’s experience, that individual’s body is likely to become accustomed to the presence of the substance and need it in order to function without battling withdrawal symptoms when the substance(s) is absent from his or her system. In such instances, detoxification services, or detox, may be an important part of one’s recovery process.
Our Non-Hospital Detox Services
At Huntington Creek Recovery Center the Northeast’s premier luxury addiction rehab center, we strive to make each patient’s journey to sobriety as effective as possible. For this reason, we are pleased to offer non-hospital detox services for those who require it at the start of their care. During the admissions process, our staff assesses the need for detox and makes the recommendation for this type of care as the preliminary step of treatment at our rehab center. Men and women, aged 18 and older, can participate in our detox services, which can be beneficial for individuals looking to overcome addictions to following substances:
- Xanax
- Adderall
- Alcohol
- Cocaine
- OxyContin
- Synthetic marijuana
- Vicodin
- Heroin
- Marijuana
- Meth
The above list is by no means exclusive, as we, at Huntington Creek Recovery Center in Pennsylvania, are equipped to care for individuals battling a variety of substance abuse concerns. We have designed our detox services in such a way that we are able to help the men and women of the Northeast detox from not just individual substances of abuse, but also polysubstance use concerns as well. In doing so, we believe that we can springboard an individual towards a phase of recovery that they may not be able to achieve had they engaged in services at another rehab center.
Your Time During Detox
Detox services at Huntington Creek Recovery Center are most appropriate for those who do not require intensive treatment during the process of withdrawal, but who are in need of supportive services as they endure this phase of the recovery process. Our detox services are supervised by our medical director, physician’s assistant, registered nurses, and licensed practical nurses. These staff members are those who tirelessly work to ensure the safety and comfortability of each patient within this level of care. Additionally, each member of the detox staff works closely with each individual to preserve their health and wellness by doing the following for the duration of each person’s time in detox:
- Monitor vital signs and the current health status
- Facilitate medication management services
- Supervise medication regimens
- Document and revise (if necessary) medications that are prescribed
Furthermore, patients are regularly assessed to determine if and when they are able to participate in clinical programming while in detox. Unlike other programs, patients at our rehab center are encouraged to partake in therapeutic programming while in the detox phase of rehab. In fact, each patient’s primary counselor begins meeting with those who come to Huntington Creek Recovery Center so that the treatment planning process can begin as quickly as possible.
While patients are in detox, primary counselors collaborate with them to learn about their treatment goals, process through their initial experiences at our rehab center, and establish whether or not an individual is ready to engage in group therapy sessions and/or psychoeducational opportunities within our clinical programming.
If a patient is well enough, he or she can begin working towards achieving his or her treatment goals after resting, building up his or her physical strength, and hydrating him or herself to a satisfactory level. Should a patient not feel well enough, he or she will be encouraged to attend group therapy sessions and meals with other patients as the symptoms of withdrawal become less severe.
